Making and sending cards is one way to show my love.

I was born and raised in southern Japan.

I’m married to an American guy who is from South Carolina.

Now, we are living in Hawaii because he is going to graduate school.

So we are far from both of our families and friends.

It is hard for us to live in a place that is far from people we love

and maybe that’s why it’s been very important for us to say that

we love them and we care about them through sending cards.

It’s just one way.

But I love to show our love to people we care about

with doing what I love!

日本にも、お手紙を書いて送る風習があるように、

アメリカにも、カードにメッセージを添えて送る習慣があります。

私は、九州で生まれ、九州で育ちました。

アメリカ人と出会い、結婚し、

今は夫の大学院での勉強のためハワイに住んでいます。

お互いの家族や友人と遠くに住んでいる分、

大切な人に、「大切だ」と伝えることは、

私が後悔のない人生を送るための一つの術でもあります。

「あなたは私にとって、大切な人です。」

遠く離れていても、

近くにいても、

伝えられるときに、伝えたい。

きっと伝え方はたくさんあって、

そのたくさんの中の一つにすぎないけれど、

私の作るカードが、

たくさんの人に愛を伝えられるものでありますように。
